My daughter loves this backpack! Shes been wanting a kipling backpack for a long time. Never realized they were sold on amazon and at an ok price ( still a little pricey and more thsn i would wsnt to spend for a backpack). However next time i will probably purchase on kipling site as i discovered after purchasing it here, that kipling had this backpack already marked down to same price as here but on top of that there was a another discount. So this same exact bag would have come out cheaper on kipling site.Im happy that this bag is very spacious, unlike the other standard 15 in lenght kiplings i saw. This one is 18.25 inch in lenght. Very large. Perfect for middle school. Its very hard n rare to find at least a 17 inch length backpack on amazon and a style thats teen approved and this fit the bill.. The lenght size is what is most important to me as we have lots of books n labtop that need to fit. So i was happy. There are 2 main separate compartments, ( front and back side)each with their own zipper. The front side is the largest compartment and it contains a sleeve for the labtop. The backside is a narrow long compartment good for holding folders or skinny items.Then there are 2 small front compartments, also with their own zippers. The larger of these two can fit some marbled notebooks. This compartment also contains a sleeve for like a smaller device like an ipad mini. In this same compartment there are also two little pockets to hold a phone or other small items. In this compartment there is also a latch string to attach your keys to it.The other front compartment is much smaller and can hold things like a pencil case, small notepad etc.At the very top of the backpack next to the handle is a tiny shallow compartment, also with its own zipper to hold ear buds or a small phone,etc..The top handle is also very sturdy. It says kipling on it with a leather like look to it.There are two water bottle pockets on either side of the backpack.There is signature kipling keychain of the the monkey hiding inside the grey fuzzball.I love the kipling zippers. They are very sturdy and easy to open and close. The straps in this backpack are very thick and strong.The only thing i didnt like about the backpack is if you look close it looks like there are little bubbles ( dont really know how to describe it) that are lighter in shade of the backpack color, but it seems as if thats just the material of the backpack, because when i looked at some other light solid colored backpacks they had that same look. I also purchased the matching pencil box and lunchbox and they too have that same bubble look appearance upclose.I travel to Europe frequently. I have only Kipling luggage. It's light, practical, has the best zippers and looks good. When I came back from my last trip where my backpack got stolen, I ordered two of these just in case it'd happened again. Worth every penny, specially when amazon has a good price on it.I have 3 Kiplings bags already and the quality is superb. The material is fantastic. I looked for a large backpack that didn't look like a standard "school" backpack . I also wanted easy access via zippers, not snaps, belt type loops and this fit the bill. What really sold me was the monkey design, very original and the water bottle pockets on the side that expand.These are key for me since you can slip your keys in them, power bars, snacks, flashlight and of course a water bottle. This could also work as a business type backpack because of the design and material. It's classy looking.I have a 17" laptop and was looking high and low to find a backpack that could fit it. On a hope and a prayer I purchased this one and am so happy I did! It has a separate compartment for my large laptop with three other compartments for everything else. Everything I own (I carry around a least three medium sized textbooks for school) fits with room to spare. AND IT WAS WATER BOTTLE HOLDERS!
