I absolutely love this backpack! I bought the XS in Chai/Tan. Although it's small (13L), it holds a lot. I recently took it as a day pack on a trip to Europe. (It doubled as my seat bag on the airplane.) The inside compartment easily held my full size digital camera, iPhone XS, collapsing umbrella, Nook, sunglasses and 9 oz. water bottle. There is also an inner zippered pocket for small items like a nail file, clippers, etc. The zippered outer pocket along the backside of the pack is great for holding maps or a thin notebook or other flat objects. The two outer front pockets hold small objects such as a 2 oz. bottle of hand sanitizer, pocket tissues, lip balm/lipstick, pill containers, pack of gum, etc. The fabric is sturdy and the pack easily slings over a shoulder or can be worn on your back. (After three weeks of daily use the pack shows no sign of wear.) The drawstring closure under the flap w/magnetic snap closure ensures security. And the magnetic snaps on the front pockets keep them securely closed as well. I love this pack so much I recently bought a second one. Why? As the color of my first pack is Chai/Tan, it's on the light side. I found that I wasn't taking it if I was going somewhere where I thought it would get dirty (camping, baseball games). So I bought a second one in a darker color that won't show the dirt. Bottom line: great little day pack that holds all of the stuff I need without getting too heavy. What's not to like?I bought this with the intention of upgrading from my 5-year old Kavu rope sling bag. There’s nothing wrong with the Kavu bag and it still looks as fresh and new as the day I purchased it... I honestly just wanted to try something new. I would prefer to distribute the weight of my purse load across both shoulders, and the Herschel bag looked more than sufficient to suit my needs. So then, why am I returning it? Here’s the rundown:CONS:1. The front flap pockets must only be for show. They are wide open, even when you snap them closed with the magnetic snap (which is not nearly magnetic enough to make this bag secure, but more on that momentarily). I would not feel comfortable placing anything in these pockets, unless I’m intentionally trying to lose it and/or have it stolen. So now that we’re down 2 storage pockets, let move along to number 2.2. The main magnetic snap closure is SUPER SMALL and super weak. I had to physically insert my hand inside the bag to raise the other side of the snap up so that it could make contact. Nope, this is 100% too much effort just to close a bag.3. The straps have no padding whatsoever.4. There’s only one small internal pocket, and a secret side zipper pocket. I wish there were a couple more internal pockets or compartments, since the two outside pockets aren’t an option for stowing anything of value.5. This bag in my opinion is priced $25 too high for what it is. You’re basically paying for the Herschel brand name. I would consider buying this again if it ever drops below $30.Now I’ll admit, not everything was bad. There were some decent features on this bag.PROS:1. Cute pattern and color choices. There are a ton to select from, although I didn’t really *love* any of them.2. A decent size for a purse replacement. Definitely not too small.3. The canvas seems sturdy and durable. Potentially even water-resistant to a certain degree (although I did not test this). While I do like the appearance and styling of the bag, it’s just not functional and user-friendly enough to make me want to keep it. Not for $50+. I will keep using my Kavu bag while I search for another replacement.Y’all this is the Mary Poppin’s bag of the 21 century. I love this mom-pack. It is perfect for all my toddler’s and my necessities. It fits diapers, wipes, a small size toiletries and medicine bag, snacks, clothes, on-the-go first aid kit, toys, two sunglasses cases, and all your hopes and dreams. The front pockets are perfect for my everyday purse things-wallet, keys, lipstick, boss up your life mom tools. It has an inside pocket for whatever random sh*t that ends up in your bag. The secure back pocket has so much room for possibilities, but I use it for my son’s tablet. It’s comfortable, but still stylish and not bulky. It weights nothing. I’m pretty sure it is made from some kind of witch craft, but I’m not judging. It could last through a toddler birthday party which means it could last through anything. If your a mom like me who hated those giant diaper bags then get this bag. You won’t regret it.This is an awesome backpack. A little bit more expensive than I'm used to for a backpack this size, but it's totally worth it. I've put it through so much within the short amount of time that I've had it.It looks small, but trust me, it holds a lot and is quite a convenient size when traveling. The backpack is made of really great quality material and it has a really convenient pocket in the side that I've used to store items like postcards and other documents that I don't want to get too bent up since there is a nice, thick layer of padding on the back.I've only had it for a month, but honestly, I can see this backpack holding up for a very long time. I'm even considering using this when going to classes once school starts again since I realized that my laptops DOES manage to fit inside!Highly recommended!!9/9/2016 Update~After much trial and error, I have come to the conclusion that this backpack will not work for school for me personally. I simply cannot comfortably fit my 13 inch laptop, agenda, 2 small Five-Star notebooks and a tiny pencil pouch in the bag. The opening of the backpack barely covers the top of the computer so it won't close at all. The only thing that keeps my laptop from falling out is the flap and magnetic clasp,With that being said, it's still a great travel backpack (I recently took it kayaking too, and while things got a little wet, nothing was drenched at all), but unless you have a smaller laptop, I wouldn't suggest it for school.Good quality, but the 20.5L bag is long, flat and narrow, making it less capable for travel and look strange on my petite body.Be warned...the opening at the top of this bag is very narrow...about 24" (as apposed to the other Herchel bag of a similar size but without pockets, which is 30"). I know it's probably not meant for carrying a ring binder ....which is as well... because it won't fit in. It also has a tiny flap at the top rather than the one which stretches over the sides, so would need to tighten the drawstring to give protection. Not brilliant.really funky functional bag that is well made and holds a perfect A level students level of heavy booksThis was a present for my wife, it had been pointed out to me some months before as a potential present. It seems she likes it a lot....This backpack is not 23.5L. It is 20.5LTotally satisfied my expectations! Needed a practical back For my everyday work routine, and that perfectly suits them as it is also a stylish backpack! Perfect for girls
