This final installment of Rose Gardiner’s complicated messy life was a roller coaster ride of all the things wrapped up in all the feelings. All the storylines were resolved. This book was once again impossible to put down while I was waiting to hear how things were going to be resolved with Mike’s kids, with Neely Kate and Jed’s baby, with James, with Kate, and with Hardshaw. Rose has a 6 week old baby, Hope. She and Joe are preparing for an uncomplicated married life. Unfortunately, she is once again forced into the middle of the Fenton County criminal world whether she wants to be or not. And this time everyone might not make it out alive. The book was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline with sweet moments, exciting action, danger, family drama, painful pasts, mystery, plot twists, imperfect characters, missteps, and all the big feels. I am sad to see the series end. I will miss Rose, the Lady in Black and all the people Rose loves.
