These are close to perfect shoes. The 6.5W fits me true-to-size, which is a rarity. I've got short toes, so I was worried that some people said these are 'too long', but I don't know what they're talking about because they're exactly in the right place for me. The shape gives you about 1" in the toe box, but this is just the design - I wonder if these are folks buying a larger size who actually need a wider shoe? Not sure. But seriously - my toes never reach the ends of shoes, and these fit like a glove.With a wide foot and high instep, I can often find wedges or pumps 'bite' me across the top of my foot, but the soft elastic ring around these eliminates that, without looking 'geriatric'. Are they the most fashion-forward shoe? no, of course not - but that's not what I wanted. i wanted a shoe that was going to be comfortable and stable on cobble stones in Italy, and dressy enough to go to dinner. No point in going on a trip with shoes that hurt and make you want to walk less, and see less, than you could with comfortable ones!Docked a star because the footbed is not cushioned well - I'll need to add some kind of padding. It's not uncomfortable as-is, but imagining walking for 8 hours, I'd expect to feel differently.
